America has gained much power and territory since its inception. The hegemony policy has been very successful. It is a policy with strong roots and foundations and hard to shake off. Yet clearly, we must find a better path forward in the digital world of the 21st Century. Everything is changing and demands new policies and strategies in our more crowded and complex world.
Too many of our present politicians still think that American leadership is required to control the world’s aggressors. They say that we must get involved and “Fix” things like we did against Hitler and Japan’s Tojo. Well, that is no longer possible as illustrated by the results of the past 70 years. We have sent our armies and marines to more than a dozen countries and what was the result? We solved nothing and only made things worse. It is most likely that the problems would have resolved themselves by now. Time will pass and the nature of the problem will evolve in an unpredictable manner. Let us just stop our feeble meddling. We just create more foes and adversaries and more people who hate us.
Our awesome military strength does not qualify us for wise leadership. Maybe later after we get our own house in order America can lead by example rather than military. Until then we should stay at home.
A DIVIDED AMERICA:
Currently, America is much divided concerning the best path to the future. Let us take the High Road. Let us do more to live up to the high morals and values as stated in our Declaration of Independence. Let us become the shining light on the hilltop, a beacon of hope that others will admire and emulate. Let us leave behind us the times of hegemony and military aggression. Peace and respect for all leads to a world better suited for human habitation, and a healthy balanced ecosystem. Great danger lies on the other pathway.
Our foreign policies since 1950 have been largely destructive and mainly responsible for Global Warming, a pending disaster. Our current leadership role of reduced fossil fuel burning will be followed by other nations once it is a convincing policy change here.
THE OBSTACLES: Powerful and wealthy forces are against almost all change. This has been true since the 1950’s. They are smart, clever, and their tactics stay hidden from the masses. They know how busy we are in this ever changing world. They know we have short memories. They know how to spread fear and distrust. They prey upon all of human frailties to DIVIDE AND CONQUER and to stifle our government functions. Fear mongering is one of their tactics. Creating artificial problems is another tactic to confuse facts, distort the truth, and keep us divided.
Worst of all is when they create obstacles to block voters from going to the polls. There should be zero tolerance for complicating voter registration and then subjecting them to long lines at the voting booths. These problems are not experienced in California and should never be tolerated in any State as they have often been. The elitists want a very low voter turnout to tip the scales in their favor. Do not be duped by these tactics.
THE ELITISTS:
America has always lived off the backs of the less fortunate, the immigrants, the minority races, the third world countries, and the negro slaves. Contrived racism has been an unspoken American policy that favored the established elite. Now in the digital age the battle for equality is heating up. The majority is trying to gain back the ground lost to the elitist 1%. The rich and powerful still hold all the levers of control and will not easily back down. They know all of the dirtiest tricks and will use them all. Our problems have grown exponentially and now seem beyond repair. Their disruptive strategies are too numerous to ever list. A new “problem” appears almost daily.
THE MAJORITIES:
The preferred mechanism for change is a gradual one as compared to revolution and violence. Our best hope lies within each new generation. It may be a slow process, but it will be the least violent way forward. Each new generation has the potential to leap over the past. Our past ways are not fitted for the 21st century. A better education of our youngest children is the place to start in this century. They will usher in a New Normal, a more fair and balanced culture. Grassroots action must prepare each generation to take charge of their lives and do their duty as citizens. This long and slow way is better than any alternative. Let us all participate in the Grassroots process.
Let us defeat the elitist minority.
Let the new America be lead by an informed citizen.
Be patient.
And vote.
